But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.
Acts 20:24 NASB
We evaluate the importance of things and events in our lives everyday. We assign importance. When something more important comes up, the things that are not as important can wait.
How important to you is the Lord or the plan of God?
The Apostle Paul operated his life on that the things of God were so important, that he didn’t consider his own life first. God had given him a plan and a ministry, and that came first, before ANYTHING ELSE!
Many will read the above and say, yeah, but Paul was an apostle. He was supposed to do that. Kind of how people think of ministers. They are in that role. They are supposed to let ministry come before anything, it’s their job.
This line of thinking cannot be further from the truth!
We all have a ministry! God has a plan for all of our lives. The problem is that His plan usually dissrupts OUR plan, so we make excuses and rationalize to make ourselves feel better.
Don’t you want to do what God has for you? Don’t you want to accomplish His plan for your life? I can guarantee you that it will be more exciting and fruitful than the life you have planned. His plan depends on trust, faith and obedience. His plan is not for the weak!
Don’t wuss out on God! He has something for you that is better than you can possibly imagine!
Finish YOUR course!
Lord, help us to have a passion and a desire for Your things. Help us to have a passion to live the life and walk on the plans that You have for us. Give us strength. Help out feeble faith. Help us to trust and obey you when it’s hard. Lord look at our hearts and know that we desire You more than anything else.
