11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Hebrews 6:11-12 NASB
Have you ever known someone who had partial hope? One minute they would talk about the confidence they have, but at another time they would doubt and worry.
When believers are wishy-washy, it causes their walk with God to have fits and starts, never really allowing for a momentum of faith. They become sluggish in their walk.
This Scripture says that faith and patience are important to obtaining the promises of God. And the cool thing is that if you are having trouble, you can imitate others who do walk like this.
That’s why it is important to choose your friends wisely. You should seek out Bible believing friends and encourage one another in your daily walk.
It takes time and patience to receive the promises of God. It’s easier with a Christian friend.
I can always increase my faith and patience. The more I learn about the Lord, the more I spend time with Him, the more I trust and know that His promises will be fulfilled.
But I can also be a friend and seek friends who seek God. Together we can encourage each other and build each other up.
Lord, help me to be a friend that can encourage others to grow in their faith and be patient for Your promises. Your promises are always Yes and Amen!
