Observation
Jesus went about doing good, healing people, casting out demons, performing miracles, etc. Here he healed a mute man and the crowd immediately says that Jesus can do this because He is the ruler of demons.
There are going to be people out there, I would even say a majority in this day and age, who will never accept the goodness of God.
They make excuses, lay blame, anything to not allow God to transform their life. And that’s the key.
Jesus wants to transform you. He wants you to be a “new creation.” But too many people like what the old life has to offer. They don’t want to live obedient, holy, righteous lives.
And that just doesn’t make sense!
One day there will be a settling of accounts. Excuses will be worth nothing at that point.
Application
Have you made an excuse to not be obedient to the Lord lately?
You have to allow Him to transform your life. Sometimes that is not always easy or fun. The world can have a strong hold on us and as a result, we need to keep our eyes on Jesus. He is our strength to get through.
He desires you to be holy and righteous. He died for that very reason.
In what area of your life do you need to start being obedient? Start today!
Prayer
Lord, how I desire that nothing gets in the way or that nothing has a hold on me, so that I could always move and adjust my life to You.
