Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test? 2 Corinthians 13:5 NASB
We know exactly what testing feels like to go through. We take tests for all sorts of things. But when it comes to our faith, would our spiritual life pass the test?
Paul told the Corinthians to examine themselves, to check their faith. What would happen if Paul was in front of us, calling us to do that too? Would we be afraid to fail? Would we even know where to start?
If you haven’t recently, maybe it’s time to do an honest assessment of where you are in your faith.
Have you grown in faith? Are you at the same place with your faith that you were 5 years ago? If so, that wouldn’t be acceptable in regular school for any child. Why is it ok for Christians?
Although salvation is through grace, that doesn’t mean that you don’t put forth effort to learn and grow in the Lord. You need to be purposeful to grow in faith, just like you have to be purposeful when you learn and grow in anything else!
Stop waiting for the perfect time, for the right “season of life.” Start drawing close to Jesus now. Spend more time with Him. You can never get enough!
Now is the right time!
Father, as I seek You more and more, thank You for revealing Yourself to me.
