Sow with a view to righteousness,
Reap in accordance with kindness;
Break up your fallow ground,
For it is time to seek the Lord
Until He comes to rain righteousness on you.
Hosea 10:12 NASB
Sowing and reaping is a law that reaches from the natural to the spiritual. You can easily see it when you put a seed into the ground. When the conditions for germination are met, the seedling begins to grow, eventually producing fruit. The same principal applies for everything in this life, including the spiritual.
In fact, the spiritual is more important because things done in the spiritual, for the glory of God, are eternal.
The Scripture says to sow with a view to righteousness. That means being right with God. In other words, when you are living your life, consider everything that you do in light of being right with God.
As you do, and as you seek Him, you know that there will be a time when He will come and rain down on you righteousness.
He is a good Father. He wants to bless His children. When we walk in Him, and align our lives to Him, we make it easy for Him to rain down His righteousness on us.
Like a seed waits for the perfect condition to germinate, what in your life needs to adjust to make it a perfect condition for the Lord to have full reign in your life?
Are you sharing “your dirt” with other things that are temporal and don’t matter one bit eternally? Do you give more time to TV and selfish endeavors and only give God an hour of your week? Do you take time to spend in the Word and prayer? He will meet you if you seek Him! Sow righteousness….And see what happens!
Lord, I desire to know You more. I desire to sow righteousness and allow it to manifest a harvest of being right with You. This is the most important thing. Help me to stay focused on this!
