so that at the name of Jesus
every knee will bow —in heaven and on earth and under the earth— and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:10-11 NET
Did you get that “every knee” and “every tongue” phrase? EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue will confess one day.
For Christians, this is a welcomed scene. The sky will split open and Jesus will come back to take His people home. We gladly serve and recognize Him as our Lord and Savior. Bowing and confessing on this day will make for the greatest day ever!
But there will be MANY who will have to acknowledge Jesus’ Lordship, but they will do so not out of love and service, but out of fear!
They will fear because they lived their lives on their own terms. They chose to live a life that didn’t follow God’s Word. They lived for themselves and didn’t desire the things of God.
For them, the return of Jesus means judgement and that they lost their chance of repentance and eternity with Him.
This is scary to think about because those of us who are Christians have loved ones who choose to not live for Jesus. That day for them will be no different. Everyone has the chance and ability to accept Jesus now!
The time is short. Jesus is coming soon!
Is your relationship with Jesus solid? If not, it’s because you haven’t made Him your Lord!
You might have made Him your Savior. Who doesn’t want to be saved from Hell? But Lordship entails you align yourself with His ways and His ways only!
This means you read and study His Word and you are led by the Holy Spirit to live rightly before Him.
If you do so now, great! Keep following the Lord and let Him use you everyday.
If not, make the change now. What do you really lose by living for Jesus? You don’t lose anything, you gain everything.
Be strong in Him. He will never fail you!
Lord, I pray for those reading this who don’t have a true relationship with You. Help them to see that nothing else matters but You. I also pray for those reading this who need encouragement. Help them to find peace as they turn their eyes to You and away from this world.
