It is better to go to a funeral
than a feast. For death is the destiny of every person, and the living should take this to heart.
Ecclesiastes 7:2 NET
It’s easy to get off the path we should continually walk on. We need to read the signs, examine the guideposts, reflect on our journey.
We don’t do this naturally. We don’t usually think about what our lives are all about and what we are truly accomplishing for the Lord.
Death, funerals do this.
A funeral, a celebration of someone’s life, causes us to reflect on our own life.
It is a gift!
A gift that causes you to look inward, examine your life and seek the Lord.
Have you lived well? Are you living right? Do you care about what truly matters or are you just going through the motions?
You get the opportunity to course correct. You get reminded that your time is finite.
But don’t wait for the next funeral. Do it now! Reflect and course correct!
Seek the Lord and ask Him to direct your paths. Ultimately, what you do here on Earth is meaningless, unless you are impacting eternity.
Don’t wait! How will you course correct today?
Father, thank You for times when I get to reflect on my life and what truly matters. Help me to correct my course and refocus on Your plan for my life. Help me to think about Heaven and the souls that You have put me around to influence for You.
