Jesus answered him,“You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”
John 19:11 ESV
As Jesus stood there in front of Pontus Pilate, He understood one very important thing, God was in control!
Pilate had the authority and backing of Rome, the most powerful nation at the time. But that meant nothing to Jesus.
He knew that God the Father was in control of His destiny. He knew that He could trust Him and everything would work according to His plan.
God causes even the worst of things to work out for the good. The evil that the Jewish leaders had in mind, the death of Jesus, turned out for the good of all mankind.
Salvation came to man because Jesus trusted in the Father. What the Jewish leaders meant for evil, God meant for good.
What about you? What crazy thing is going on that “looks bad” in your life? Yes, there might be some pain (Jesus was beaten and crucified), but God is in control. Will you trust Him?
You might not see it all right now, but you don’t have to. You just need to trust that Jesus will take care of it.
Listen, trust and obey the Lord. That combination will never do you wrong!
Father, I thank You that when I am weak, You are strong. Help me to trust You even more today, than I did yesterday.
