I am a companion of all those who fear You,
And of those who keep Your precepts.
Psalms 119:63 NASB
Friends are very important. But for the Christian, having Christian friends is a must!
Christian friends can help you along in your walk with the Lord. They can encourage you, pray with you and even gently rebuke you, if needed.
Christian friends come first from a Biblical perspective. Their decisions and insights should come from God’s Word, not what is current in the mainstream or what you want to hear.
You should desire Christian friends and fellowship.
The old saying, you have to be a friend to have a friend is true. But for the Christian, it also means that you need to be around other Christians.
Are you putting yourself and investing in the lives of other Christians? If not, be purposeful. Join a small group, volunteer, go to church every Sunday, ask someone to lunch.
Lord, show me the people in my life that I can fellowship with that together we can glorify You. Help me to also evaluate my current relationships and discern if they honor You.
