Glorify God • Magnify Him in this World!

Bothered Enough?

Scripture
16 Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was being provoked within him as he was observing the city full of idols.
Acts 17:16 NASB

Observation
Walking around Athens, Paul was provoked by the many idols he saw displayed. It was unsettling to him that so many people were led astray and didn’t know Jesus. He just couldn’t sit idly by and not say anything. So he did something about it.

Does society bother you enough? Do you go through your day thinking about the people you meet and the situations they’re in and think to yourself, these people desperately need Jesus? Or do you push through your day, accomplishing your tasks, punching a time clock, coming home to veg in front of the TV and then repeat it all the next day?

We have to work or go to school or do our daily tasks. But that is not why you are here! If you are a Christian, you are to be Christ’s Ambassador. You are His hands and feet! You are to live for Him.

Seeing a world of sin and death, people deceived by the devil, should stir in us a righteous fire to see lives changed for Him!

What are you waiting for?

Application
You don’t have to a super evangelist to impact this world for God. You just need to be obedient to do what He asks.

How do you know what He asks? Read your Bible, pray that you eyes would be open and look for opportunities.

If you asked God to give you opportunities to share your faith and make a difference in eternal resting place of souls, wouldn’t you think that God would get behind that prayer? Of course He would! He’s looking for people who are obedient and willing.

Don’t walk through life plugging away at what the world says you should be doing….Making money, getting married, having kids, buying a home, retiring. Those things are not evil or bad. But they are not the primary reason you are here.

I pray you are bothered by lives that need Jesus!

Prayer
Lord, help us be unsettled when we see others who aren’t living for You. Use us, your willing servants to share a word, make a difference in someone’s life.

Peace
Todd
