And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
Luke 24:27 ESV
Jesus didn’t jump up and down trying to get the disciples to understand that He had risen from the dead. Instead, He used the Scriptures to show what was already prophesied hundreds of years before.
It is all in there, in the Word of God. And because the disciples believed the Word of God, at that time only the Old Testament, they believed it wholeheartedly and understood what He said was true.
How much of the Word of God do you read or try to understand? Jesus reveals Himself to us, even in the Old Testament.
The Bible should be a priority for us.
When you read, right before, ask the Lord to open up your understanding of Scripture through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit guides us and helps us, even while reading Scripture.
There are a few things that are so important that you should make it a daily habit. And one of those is reading the Bible. The Bible has promises for you through Christ. You should know what God’s promises for you are.
Father, thank You for Your Word. Help me to understand it and stand on Your promises.
Peace
Todd
