Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 NASB
Christians are supposed to be different! But most aren’t! It has been the same since before Paul had to write to the Corinthian church!
So what makes a Christian a Christian? I’m not talking about the inward work of salvation and being justified because of Jesus’ sacrifice. I’m talking about what non-believers see with their own eyes?
They see a difference! They see holiness! They see a life that has been turned over to the Lord and is living in alignment with Jesus’ commands. At least they are supposed to see that.
And that in itself doesn’t cause others to want Jesus. But they see that Christians have standards. They see that Christians are different than the rest of the world. And when they go searching for something more than what the world has provided for them, they know that Christians at least live by their convictions, because they are different.
But we are not! We are not distinguishable from the world.
Could it be that this world has such a pull on us? Is it that Christians want the best of both worlds? Is it because living holy is boring?
It’s because our eyes aren’t fully on the Lord. It is because we don’t know His Word. It is because we don’t take the time to spend time with the Father in prayer through Jesus’ name.
And thus, there is no holiness, no being separated unto the things of God.
It’s time to be different Christian! It’s time for the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to lead our lives!
Father, let others see that I’m completely yours in every way.
