21 And He said to me, ‘Go! For I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”
22 They listened to him up to this statement, and then they raised their voices and said, “Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he should not be allowed to live!”
Acts 22:21-22 NASB
The crowd listened intently to Paul recount his story until he got to the point the Lord said to go to the Gentiles.
The Jews just couldn’t accept the fact that God wanted to touch and bless someone else other than them. They were offended by the hand of God.
Do you ever reject what God is doing in others because you just can’t believe that God wants to bless them?
Jesus loves you and died for you. But He also died for everyone else who would submit themselves to His Lordship. Is it too far a stretch to think that some people who have seemed so far from God in the past, have come close to Him?
Don’t make the mistake in thinking that God can’t move in the lives of those least likely to accept Him. You might find yourself responding like the Jews of Jesus’ time.
Lord, help us to see and know that You died for everyone! Help us to see every soul as potentially coming to You. Help us to value ever man, woman and child like You do.
