Glorify God • Magnify Him in this World!

All Comfort

Scripture
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NASB

Observation
We are never promised that we would be without affliction in our lives. But the Word does say that we will be comforted in our afflictions.

But we are not just comforted to feel good in the circumstances and situations that we find ourselves in.  We are comforted for a purpose. We are comforted to comfort others who need comfort.

This means that I should be aware to take time and minister to those who don’t know how to get close to God so that I can be the hands and feet of Jesus that offers His comfort.

Application
I need to understand that there are times when God’s comfort comes and overwhelms me. He does this because He loves me and I’m His child.

But I also need to be aware that there are people out there who don’t know a loving God. They don’t know that He offers comfort and peace from the afflictions of this world. As a result, I need to make myself available so that God can use me to spread His comfort.

Prayer
Lord, thank you for comforting me. Thank you that I have experienced your comfort so many times I’ve lost count. But help me to be aware and listen to thr words and hearts of others who need You. Help me to not be in a rush, but to take time to share who You are and comfort from Your Word.

Peace
Todd
