For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?
When we treat the things of God like something unimportant in our lives or something that we take for granted, we will always set God aside for the “next thing.”
God is not the next thing. He is EVERYTHING! Our whole lives should revolve around Him. We should make our schedules, plan our days, follow our goals according to His plans. But how many times is God just an add on?
One day, those who didn’t give their whole lives to God will realize their mistake. At that poimt, it will be too late.
Don’t make that mistake. Don’t drift away. The joy and peace of living for God cannot be found in anything or anyone else.
Don’t make decisions today that you will regret in eternity.
My decision to live for God through Jesus Christ is solid. There is nothing that will convince me not to.
But my concern is for my family and friends who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They either see Jesus as someone who will grant them their wishes when they ask, or don’t see a need to give their whole lives to Him.
One day it will be too late. There is nothing I can do about it other than pray for them, sow the seeds of the Gospel and be there for them if they need me. Everyone needs to make a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. That is the only way.
Lord, I pray for my family and friends who haven’t made a commitment to You. I don’t want to see them go to Hell. I want them to know the joy and peace of living for You. Use me, use anyone to speak into their lives to help them see their need for salvation through Your Son.
