Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
Psalms 115:1 ESV
There are scenes that can blow us away with their beauty and majesty. For example, going to the Grand Canyon or the view from a mountain top helps us to see how small we are and how great God is.
But some people confuse the creator for the creation. Some give glory of the beauty right in front of their eyes to “time” or “Mother Earth” or erosion. God can use all those things, but He is in control!
Thus, when we see great displays of beauty and majesty, we should give glory to God!
But this shouldn’t be our reaction when we only see big beautiful examples of God’s creation, it should be when we see the small examples too: a butterfly, a single colorful flower in the field, a life that has been changed to worship and live for God!
We have much to glorify God about! We can see His hand in so much all around us. If you can’t see it, look for it! Ask Him to show you! Stop your busy life and take a moment to see what He is doing all around you!
Then give Him glory! Then praise His name!
Father, help me to consider all the ways Your love and mercy touch me in this life, including being able to see Your beauty and creation all around me! And let me give You glory for it!
Peace
Todd
