As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.
Genesis 50:20 NASB
Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery to get rid of him and remove him from their life. They were jealous of him and didn’t want him around. Before selling him into slavery, they even thought about killing him.
But God was with Joseph. He blessed him everywhere he went, in Potiphar’s house, in jail and ultimately the second in command of Egypt.
Being second in command, Joseph saved his family, as well as all the families in Egypt. He also made Pharoah very rich.
God used Joseph in a mighty way. He turned around his misfortune and blessed him.
What He did for Joseph He does for all of His children.
There are things that happen in our lives that we really don’t know how they could have turned out because God was always in the middle of it.
And, there are times when things look terrible and bleak, but God uses an aspect of it and turns the situation around to be a blessing.
The importance is to know who you trust. Do you trust in yourself, the situation, others or God? Everyone and everything else will let you down. You have to trust in God. He will never let you down.
You might not see the end result so easily. You might not like what happens in front of you. You might not like it when you’re in the middle of it. But if you are God’s child, you need to trust Him that He will take care of you. He knows what He’s doing.
Lord, help me to trust You in times when can’t always see the end result. Help me to be patient and wait on You.
