2 Jeremiah the prophet and said, “May our petition come before you; pray to the Lord your God on our behalf, on behalf of this entire remnant (for few of us remain out of the many, as you can see with your own eyes), 3 that the Lord your God may tell us the way we should walk and the thing we should do.”
Jeremiah 42:2-3 NASB
Seeking the Lord for direction is one of the most important things you can do. God’s ways are not like our ways. Sometimes He chooses to do things differently from common wisdom. That is why we should always seek His will for our lives.
But God is not a magic ball. You don’t go rub it whenever you need to know something. Knowing comes from spending time with Him and seeking Him, through the power of the Holy Spirit and His Word.
There is no other way!
And you won’t be disappointed.
The starting point is my relationship with God. The remnant went to Jeremiah because He was close to God.
He reveals His will to His people because He doesn’t hide anything. He has always let His people know what was coming.
We can know the same for our personal lives. We can know what He desires!
Let Him direct your path. Don’t try to figure it all out by yourself. He will help you and guide you. But you have to be open and ready to do what He desires.
And what He desires will always be better than you could possibly imagine.
Lord, I desire to seek You in everything. I don’t want to take a step unless it is in Your will. Help me to stop and listen to what You are saying. Help me to identify your voice and what You are doing around me.l so I can adjust myself to You.
