Desperate

Scripture
24 So a report about him spread throughout Syria. People brought to him all who suffered with various illnesses and afflictions, those who had seizures, paralytics, and those possessed by demons, and he healed them. 25 And large crowds followed him from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan River.
Matthew 24:24-25 NET

Observation
What would you do if you were sick or had someone close to you who was sick? Would you do anything for a healing?

Word spread about Jesus far and wide. People came from all over to be healed. They didn’t have a promise of healing, just a word that someone was healing people. They were desperate.

Are you desperate for Jesus?

You see, when we realize our need for a Savior, something we can’t do on our own, we are willing to do what is necessary to get the help we need.

Unfortunately, many today don’t see their need for Jesus. They are self-sufficient. They have it all under control, until they don’t. Then, they scramble, look for answers, try all sorts of things and hopefully, they find their way to Jesus.

But why chance it? Know Jesus now.

You are actually desperate for Jesus now and don’t realize it. The most ravaging disease is effecting you now, if you haven’t asked Jesus to forgive you of your sin.

Sin will keep you from life, eternal life. You are desperate for Jesus now!We all are.

Go to Him today!

Application
What do you do when your desperate? How do you respond? Would your behavior and actions show the world you are desperate for more of Jesus?

It’s time for Believers to truly shine their light and show how important Jesus is to them.

This might mean we forgo certain things. This might mean that we live lives that others might say are extreme or radical.

Why not? Desperate people do desperate things…like travel over many miles just to get a healing touch.

Be desperate for Jesus.

Prayer
Lord, help me to be desperate for You. Let not be for show, but the true desire and beat of my heart.

Peace
Todd
