Glorify God • Magnify Him in this World!

Cause and Effect or What You’re Sowing

Scripture
Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
Galatians 5:7-8 NET

Observation
There is a cause and effect in the spiritual life that many don’t want to acknowledge. Just like a farmer puts a seed into the ground, waters it, gives it attention, our spiritual lives are a direct result of what and how we sow into it.

Many Believers would want the mercy, forgiveness and promise of eternity, but then, show by the way they live that it really isn’t that important to them. It is like planting a garden for vegetables you will NEED later, but then never watering or fertilizing it. It doesn’t make sense!

What you sow into your life, your flesh and your spiritual life is important!

It is not important for salvation. You can’t do anything to earn that!

But you show what is truly important to you by what you invest in, in what you give your time to.

What are you sowing? Are you showing, by the way you live, that you are so grateful for the life that Jesus has given you, that it permeates every aspect of your life?

Application
God has to be real in your life. He has to be so real and so important, that nothing else comes first.

And why wouldn’t you desire that? One day you will live in eternity with Him. He is the most important thing! Everything else in this world is temporary and fading away.

Spend time in prayer, asking the Lord to help you identify things in your life that are of no eternal value. Even more, ask Him to reveal things that are counter to a growing spiritual life, then remove them!

Sow to the Spirit, the harvest will be greater than you can imagine!

Prayer
Lord, thank You for the Holy Spirit. Help me to always be obedient and ready to follow in Your ways.

Peace
Todd
