Family/Personal Bible Study* - 1 John 2:15-27

In the final days before Christ’s return, the Antichrist, the great enemy of God, will arise to persecute God’s people. In the meantime, many “minor” enemies, people who deny that Jesus is who he says he is, will arise. These people seek to lead others astray with their teaching. The best way for Christians to deal with these enemies is to hold fast to the truths of Scripture.

Family Day Panorama

Randy Chapman created a panorama pic from two smaller pics of family day.

Active Listening?

In Leadership Gold, John Maxwell writes...

"I once read about a study that stated that we hear half of what is being said, listen to half of what we hear, understand half of it, believe half of that, and remember only half of that. If you translate those assumptions into an eight-hour day, here is what it would mean:
- You spend half your day - about four hours - in listening activities.
- You hear about two hours' worth of what is said.
- You actually listen to an hour of it.
- You understand only thirty minutes of that hour.
- You believe only fifteen minutes' worth.
- And you remember less than eight minutes of all that is said."

Should we talk in 8 minute intervals? :-)

Bread of Life Home Church Visit

Today, Bread of Life home church worshiped with us. It was a great time of fellowship. I hope this is the beginning of future times when our home church can fellowship with other home churches...maybe even having some type of gathering where multiple churches get together and worship together at some point.

The pictures below are at the beginning and then during eating. I don't have pics during the service...but hopefully the pastor of Bread of Life will send some. I'll post them when I get them.

In this passage, Paul underscored the importance of Christian unity. The ultimate purpose of the church is to serve Christ and his kingdom. The reason God gives people spiritual gifts is to build up the church. God’s goal for his people, as Paul instructs, is that we should be unified in Christ.
